HI Everyone,
There is only five school days left to turn in supplies for our Florida trip. Without sounding too panicked, there really is not much to support 60 people for this trip. As you're shopping for Thanksgiving please consider our Florida donations. The link is below or you can just send in bulk items (don't really need paper products) that your child really likes!! http://www.signupgenius.com/go/508084eaaab2dabfa7-... Here's a update on what we need/don't need for our trip. We (almost) have enough water but we do need: Soda - all brands and lots of it. Right now we have two cases-hate to be picky but the kids are going to grab a brand name vs Vess Hostess cakes Little boxes of cereal Fruit snacks Juice boxes Gold fish Animal Crackers Individual servings of cookies Individual servings of peanuts Uncrustables (PB&J) Thanks folks. Your generosity is really, really what makes this trip so much fun!! Dave

Cadets has an amazing experience at the National Air Force Museum in Dayton Ohio! This was a combined trip between Lafayette AFJROTC and Marquette AFJROTC.
Cadets got the opportunity to Walk through JFK's Air Force One, walk through FDR's Air Force One, many cargo planes, and learn about the history of military aircraft. Click below to view pictures! Cadets visited Fort Leonard Wood Army Base to explore what a day in the life of an army soldier looks like.
While the discovery flights were cancelled... cadets still found a way to learn and have fun. Cadets first headed over to the STL science center, then went to spirit airport to visit an airplane hangar (Thanks to commander Grant for this treat).
Cadets from both Marquette's AFJROTC unit and Lafayette took a weekend trip. Cadets left before school on Friday and traveled to their hotel in Huntsville Alabama. The next day they went to Space Camp and had a guided tour throughout the museum. Cadets also learned about different types of rocket fuel, and made/launched paper rockets during a classroom session. After space camp cadets returned to the hotel. The last day of the trip cadets left the hotel and traveled to Memphis Tennessee and visited the civil rights museum. This museum is built around the Lorraine Hotel. This is the site where Martin Luther King was assassinated on April 4th, 1968. Then cadets headed home and arrived back at school by 8:00pm.
