Meet The Instructors

AFJROTC has two instructors; one who teaches valuable life lessons, while the other teaches Aerospace Science.

Cnl. Robert Jakcsy

Senior Aerospace Science Instructor (SASI): "I called New Mexico home until we decided to retire here in Missouri.  I attended high school and college in Las Cruces, New Mexico.  As the son of a retired Senior Master Sergeant (SMSgt), I moved around a lot even before I entered the Air Force and have lived in 8 different states, Iraq, Kuwait, and Qatar.  I have a Bachelors and Masters degree in Criminal Justice and served over 24 years as a Special Agent in the Air Force's primary investigative agency, the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (OSI for short)...think NCIS, but in the Air Force. I am married and have three adult children.  I ride a Harley Davidson and work in my wood shop during my free time. My primary reason for deciding to become a teacher was to introduce students to opportunities that they may not have ever considered.  If you want to know more about a particular job or career...I'll learn with you."

SMSgt. Matthew Zahradka

Aerospace Science Instructor (ASI): "I have been teaching in the Rockwood School District since August, 2019.  I am a native St. Louisan, married with 2 grown children, and a graduate of Westminster College, Fulton, MO.  Prior to teaching, I spent time in numerous career fields in the chemical industry ranging from sales, business development, and sales management.  In addition, I spent over 25 years serving my country in the Guard/Reserves in many different commands holding various positions. I retired from the US Air Force Reserve in 2018 as a Senior Master Sergeant/First Sergeant in the 932d Airlift Wing at Scott AB, IL. My hobbies are motorcycle riding, exercising, and exploring back roads in the Midwest."

Meet the Commanders

The unit commander(s) have earned the highest rank in Air Force JROTC (Cadet Colonel/Cadet Lt. Colonel) and are in charge of running our unit for a whole semester. The deputy commander is the person who the unit commander has appointed as their second-in-command.

Meet The Parents Association Board Members
Savannah Howes
PRESIDENT
Savannah is the current President of the LHS AFJROTC Parents Association. She is the wife of a veteran and mother to three boys. Savannah works a clinic coordinator and enjoys hiking in her spare time. 
Alison Hadzic
VICE PRESIDENT
Alison Hadzic is a mom to two teenage boys, one who is in LHS AFJROTC, and the other who recently graduated. She is currently
serving as the Vice President for the Unit this school year. She works as a Financial Planner and
enjoys cooking, quilting, reading and hanging
